Miguel Felix Gallardo Granted House Arrest Due to Health Concerns

At 76 years old, the “Boss of Bosses”, Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, who has been serving a prison sentence for more than three decades for the murder of former DEA agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, obtained this Monday, September 12 the benefit of house arrest.

Félix Gallardo had been imprisoned since 1989 for the murder of Enrique Camarena, an agent of the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), although he was not sentenced until 2017 when he was sentenced to 37 years in prison in a prison in the Mexican state of Jalisco.

On January 5, 2022, the drug trafficker challenged the sentence that refused to protect him against the payment of 20 million 810 thousand pesos to the families of the DEA agent, Enrique Camarena Salazar, and that of the Mexican pilot, Alfredo Zavala Avelar.
