Nine Murdered People Abandoned At A Funeral Home In Reynosa, Tamaulipas

At least nine bodies of people murdered were found on December 14, 2023, at the San José funeral home, located on Calle Oriente Dos 610, in the Cumbres neighborhood of Reynosa, Tamaulipas.

“Authorities opened investigation folder for the discovery of bodies in at a funeral home in Reynosa. Experts and Investigation Police are processing the place to clarify the facts,” reported the Attorney General’s Office of Justice of the State of Tamaulipas (FGJT), on its social network account X,

The bodies were reported to the 089 anonymous tip number, personnel from the General Directorate of Forensic Services and Forensic Sciences and Investigation Police of the FGJT were at the scene, for the clarification of the facts.

The Spokesperson of the state justice institution, quoted by local media, detailed that this case could be related to the report received on December 12, 2023, regarding six corpses found in the municipality of San Fernando.

“In recent days, a video circulated on social networks in which people allegedly abducted in San Fernando were observed. An investigation was initiated in the place where they were supposedly found, without any body being located,” said the FGJT spokesperson.

“At the moment it’s not ruled out whether or not there is a relationship between the two events, which will be determined with the progress of the investigations,” added the Tamaulipas Prosecutor’s Office, in a statement shared on its Facebook social network account.

That day, local media reported the presence of at least six bodies in a community of San Fernando. At that time, the Tamaulipas Prosecutor’s Office said it went to the site to respond to an anonymous tip. However, it didn’t find the human remains and only detected blood stains. As well as ten shell casings, 40 caliber, and others for a .223 rifle.

Through photographs disseminated on various social networks, a poster signed by the Gulf Cartel could be seen, stating that those killed belonged to members of Los Metros, Los Zetas Vieja Escuela, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and Ismael Mario Zambada Garcia, alias “El Mayo”, one of the leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel.

In addition, a video was also disseminated on various social networks in which eight individuals – naked from the torso and marked with a letter Z on their chest – are subdued by a group of armed men in tactical clothing.

When questioned, six of the individuals said they belonged to “El Mayo’s” group, and of these, four claimed to live in the state of Durango, three in Sinaloa and one more in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua.

One more confessed to being originally from Guatemala and belonging to the Jalisco New Generation, while the last one said he lived in Reynosa and belonged to the “Los Metros” faction of the Gulf Cartel.
