Committee Of Ministers Meeting With Representatives Of Associations On CPS

Committee of ministers holding talks on CPS with representatives of associations on Wednesday, 07-Sep-2022.

Amaravati (BIN – IC): A meeting was held with representatives of various associations under the leadership of State Education Minister Mr. Botsa Satyanarayana, State Finance Minister Mr. Buggana Rajendranath, State Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Mr. Adimulapu Suresh on the subject of Employees Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS). The officials explained to the representatives of the associations through a power point presentation the benefit to the government employees through the Guaranteed Pension Scheme (GPS) proposed by the government with five important pillars, which is better than the existing CPS. The representatives have made it clear to the Committee of Ministers that they do not approve of the GPU proposed by the government and that the existing CPS policy should be canceled and the old pension scheme (OPS) policy should be implemented.

Finance Minister Mr. Buggana Rajendranath said that in a democratic system, any problem can be solved only through discussions, and it is for that purpose that he often holds discussions with representatives of associations on the issue of CPS. He said that the government is ready to legally provide the facility of guaranteed pension, guaranteed family security, minimum pension as well as health security, accidental death and disability insurance in the GPS proposed by the government. He asked all the representatives to express their approval after a thorough consideration of this policy.

Acknowledging the appeals of representatives of various associations, Education Minister Mr. Botsa Satyanarayana said that measures are being taken to increase the retirement age to 62 years for teaching and non-teaching staff working in gurukuls and universities.

Municipality and Urban Development Minister Mr.  Adimulapu Suresh along with Special Chief Secretary Finance Mr. SS Rawat, HR Principal Secretary Mr. Chiranjeevi Chaudhary, Finance Secretary Mr. SS Gulzar, GAD Secretary (Services, HR) Mr. H Arun Kumar, Government Adviser (Employees’ Welfare) Mr. Y Chandrasekhar Reddy, AP NGOs Association President Mr. Bandi Srinivasa Rao, AP Secretariat Association President Mr. Venkatramireddy, AP Government Employees Association President Mr. KR Suryanarayana and representatives of various employees’ and teachers’ associations participated in this meeting.
