Tadepalli (BIN – IC): Chief Minister YS Jagan has directed to end child marriages completely. He conducted a review of the Women and Child Welfare Department at the Chief Minister’s camp office on Monday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the YSR Kalyanamastu scheme plays a special role in preventing child marriages. The CM made it clear that the beneficiary bride and the groom who will marry her must have passed 10th standard. He directed the officials to upgrade one Bhavita center in each constituency for the disabled. Appropriate measures should be taken to provide the necessary services to them in the village and ward secretariats. The CM ordered to appoint a special IAS officer for the supervision of juvenile homes. He added that special attention should also be paid to the provision of facilities in the juvenile homes.
Women and Child Welfare Minister K V Ushasreecharan, Special C S Budithi Rajasekhar, Women and Child Welfare Department Principal Secretary A R Anuradha, Markfed Commissioner P S Pradyumna, Women and Child Welfare Department Director A Siri and other senior officials participated in this review meeting.
