The U.S. government has notified Canada that WikiLeaks is expected to release sensitive U.S. diplomatic files in the next few days that could damage its relations with allies around the world. U.S. officials say the documents may contain accounts of compromising conversations with political dissidents, as well as with politicians friendly to Washington, and could result in the expulsion of American diplomats from foreign postings. Last month, WikiLeaks published 400,000 military records that showed a higher Iraqi death toll than previously acknowledged during the U.S.-led invasion and occupation of Iraq.
