Closing Ahava Store to Stop Boycott Demonstrations

Here is a firsthand report I received from Sharon D. Klaff in the UK on the results of Anti-Israel BDS groups who have been boycotting the Israeli company Ahava for the past year. This does remind me of the newest tactics American unions are considering as they try to force retail stores to post a sign indicating their support of the unions.

…They don’t wish to be seen to take sides and get drawn into the dispute.

Finally we have the first forced closure of a Jewish owned shop with the landlord (Shaftesbury) commenting re complaints that the anti Israel demonstrators are causing havoc in Monmouth Street:

“The possibility of obtaining an injunction has been considered by a number of the neighbouring businesses but, understandably, they don’t wish to be seen to take sides and get drawn into the dispute.Furthermore, there do seem to be a number of different factions and individuals involved, which would no doubt complicate the process.

Ahava’s lease expires in September of this year and I have already advised our tenant that we will not be able to extend the term.”

So not getting involved means that the Ahava store must close so that the rabble rousers and thugs who target this Jewish owned store can have no reason to demonstrate in Monmouth Street and thus disturb the neighbouring stores.  And let’s be clear about the fact that it is the Jewish bit they are targeting as they certainly would not target an Israeli Muslim/Christian owned stored.  In the meantime, who would now give Ahava premises anywhere in the UK as with this store comes persecutors and thugs to harass the neighbourhood until more hatred drives them out?

Over the period of the demos the shop owners have been converted to antagonism and Jew hate from a previous friendly relationship with the manageress and workers at the Ahava store.  It is interesting to see how the demonstrators work – there are some key people who obviously do the scouting – maybe at universities or online followed by the intense indoctrination with sound bites that sound factual – and then there are the victims who come and support them.  Amongst them of course are the usual camel brigade and age-old Jew haters who were fed this emotion in their mother’s milk – maybe ex soldiers in the British Mandate days last century or FO workers.  Then sometimes the intelligentsia arrive, barristers in particular from 3-4 of the big legal aid chambers in the city – smooth slick, snake-skin smartly dressed – a little slimy and condescending in their knowledge that they couldn’t possibly ever be wrong.

The end result is a consensus of Jew hatred as is seen by the comments of the owner of the adjacent store Loft who said that it is a good thing they are going and that they should have left 2 years ago.  He was a friendly sort of chap when we first met him and over the year he has turned into a Jew hating person having been indoctrinated by the BDS thugs backed by Code Pink who have drip fed him lies about Israeli Apartheid and drinking of Arab blood, killing of Arab babies by Jews and all that rot.

Finally I understand how Hitler managed to mollify all opposition – a population that was too lazy to read and research and a political/media group who saw their own positions as more important than their morality.  Ultimately as long as they were all right, damn the Jews.  Well this time the 12th Imam will not by pass them by!

Funny thing is that Ahava’s biggest customers come from Ramallah as Palestinians love the products!

The good news is that many of the passersby do not buy into their rubbish and are prepared to read and listen.  At coffee after our counter demonstration, a group of us was discussing the day, some people eavesdropped on our conversation and then came over to wish us well in our plight to save our country for democracy and freedom from those who would it were otherwise.
