Christians living in Syria should seriously consider Isaiah 17. Regardless of which side they support, God’s word cannot be altered. The only question is whether this is the fulfillment of it, hard to imagine it isn’t at this point.
Already there are ruins everywhere and even Damascus is being turned to rubble slowly.
The real battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual powers of darkness that work in the sons of disobedience The darkness hates the light because it exposes their deeds as evil therefore the darkness must work to destroy the light. You will know them by their fruits for a good tree produces good fruit while a bad tree produces bad fruit. Therefore the one who has faith in the one true God is easily recognized by their deeds.
Syrians also should consider Jeremiah 49:23-27… it’s being fulfilled right before their eyes. The bible is all real even though people don’t believe in it nor take it seriously.
