MH370: Search & Rescue Capt. Prince William MIA 3 Weeks After Maldives Romantic Holiday

Prince William, a Search and Rescue Captain in the Royal Air Force, seems to have disappeared three weeks between the time of his secretive, impromptu, romantic vacation in the Maldives, that began the same day MH370 went missing, and one month to the day later, when he arrived in Wellington.  

Wikipedia says Prince William attended four schools in the UK; graduated from the University of St Andrews; and spent parts of a “gap year“ in Chile, Belize, Tanzania, and Kenya. William has also taken Kiswahili studies at Kenya and Tanzania universities. He completed officer training (eventually commissioned as a lieutenant in the Blues and Royals Regiment), and became a pilot at Royal Air Force College Cranwell in the British military. He then trained in helicopter flying to “become a full-time pilot with the Search and Rescue Force.” Flight Lieutenant Wales, as Prince William is known in the military, qualified in 2012 as an operational search and rescue captain for the Royal Air Force. 

William and Kate took an unexpected one-week luxury “romantic” vacation in the Maldives, arriving the exact same day MH370 went missing, March 8. The one-week romantic getaway was reportedly possible due to a one-week break from William’s studies. 

“Prince William and Kate jetted off to the Maldives for a ‘week-long holiday‘ just a month out from their three-week tour of New Zealand and Australia,” SBS reported.

“But it has surprised many royal watchers,” the Daily Express said. (Emphasis added.) “William, 31, is just nearing the end of an intensive 10-week course in agricultural management at Cambridge University, intended to prepare him for a future role managing the Duchy of Cornwall estate when he is heir to the throne.”

SBS  reported, ”Prince William is meant to be completing an intensive 10-week agricultural management course at Cambridge University in preparation for managing the Duchy of Cornwall estate. Reports suggest there’s a short break in classes. 

“The Queen has given special permission for William and baby George to travel to Australia on the same plane in April. Multiple heirs are not normally allowed on the same flight in case of an accident.”

Then, however, William played hooky from his classes. As unexpectely as his romantic vacation just north of Diego Garcia, he unexpectedly began his ”Asia Pacific tour” three weeks early, according to an ABC News report 

“The first month of their tour was without their baby George, who joined them once their Asia Pacific tour ended, ABC News reported. 

Information on that “Asia-Pacific tour” seems to be as sealed as MH370 data.

“The couple briefly touched down at Brisbane airport in 2012 on the way back from a tour of the Asia-Pacific region,” ABC News reported, while SBS said, “The Royal family made a brief stop in Sydney before boarding a New Zealand Air Force plane, to travel across the ditch.”

Again, the NY Post sreported this differently: ”The family and their entourage left London Saturday night for the Down Under jaunt, taking up the First Class section of a scheduled Qantas flight via Dubai,”

The schedule, according to various reports, was for the royal family to touch down in New Zealand in its city, Wellington. Hollywood Life reported that the royal couple, with baby George, arrived in New Zealand on their private jet: “The 8-month-old Royal Baby made his third public appearance while in his mom Kate’s arms as the family stepped off their private plane in Wellington, New Zealand.”

According to Hello magazine, however, the family flew to the Military Terminal in Wellington. ”Unfortunately, the family’s flight was delayed,” says Hollywood Life.

The Daily Mirror called the couple’s journey a ”whistle-stop” tour of Australia and New Zealand. “William and Kate will cover the length and breadth of both countries in just 18 jam-packed days.”

A spokesman for the Royals said they will be based in Wellington, Canberra and Sydney. “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will arrive in Australia on April 16 for the 18 day trip, which marks the couple’s first official tour of the region with Prince George,” reports International Business Times.

In December, three months before the missing MH370 operation, BBC reported  that Kensington Palace had confirmed the April tour, but released no further details about the itinerary or how long it would last: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are to visit New Zealand and Australia next April, Kensington Palace has said.” (BBC).
