A Connecticut Yankee at King Arthur’s Court

The original Mark Twain literature was actually entitled, A Yankee at King Arthur’s Court (1889). https://archive.org/details/connecticutyanke1889twai/page/n9

If you remember from my earlier writings, Yankee was actually the name of an indigenous (American Indian) clan inhabiting the area known as The Bronx today. Hence, The Bronx Yankees.

In the movie, the “Yankee” (Bing Crosby) is referred to as A Monster, Beast and A Giant, which is odd considering his size. He fells asleep (after falling off his horse) under an Oak tree and wake up in the same place centuries earlier. After his arrival into this “new place”, he remarks, “This can’t be Bridgeport?” His captor says its Camelot. He says, “Camelot, this must be the asylum”. 

Historians will not tell you these stories are yours. For that you must dig deeper, but somewhere, there, written in the pages, you will find a clue. Last page, see A Post Script by Clarence:
