Kenosha Riots Turn Deadly

TRUNEWS with RICK WILES As expected, the violence in Kenosha, Wis., has claimed its first lives, yet local leaders are stillr refusing to take decisive action to end the rioting, burning, and looting that has now engulfed the city of 100,000 for three consecutive nights. During the overnight hours, Kenosha police reported on a shooting that claimed the lives of two people: “On August 25, 2020, at about 11:45 p.m., Kenosha Police, along with assisting agencies, responded to the area of 63rd Street and Sheridan Road for reports of shots being fired and multiple gunshot victims. “The shooting resulted in two fatalities and a third gunshot victim was transported to a hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. “The shooting investigation is active and ongoing. No further details regarding the shooting will be released at this time. The names, ages, and cities of residence for the victims are still being determined.” Not long thereafter, video of the shooting emerged (click here: https://tinyurl.com/y3g28g3x). The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported that one of those killed was shot in the head and the other was shot in the chest. The Daily Caller’s Richie McGinniss was one of the first to respond to the victim who was shot in the head. He was caught on video recorded by another reporter attempting to render first aid, removing his shirt to use to stem the victim’s loss of blood (click here: https://tinyurl.com/y5wqhcz2). The Internet quickly went to work to identify the “mass shooter.” This morning, 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse was arrested in his hometown of Antioch, Ill., and charged with first-degree murder. He was arrested by Illinois cops as a “fugitive of justice” and faces extradition back to Wisconsin, where it is claimed he fled the state with the intention of avoiding prosecution for the shooting. Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth said investigators believe he may have been drawn by a Facebook post from a group calling itself the Kenosha Guard. The group – which has since been deleted by Facebook for violating its Dangerous Individuals and Organizations policy – posted an event Tuesday afternoon that encouraged an armed response to the rioting that had racked the city the previous two nights: “Any patriots willing to take up arms and defend our city tonight from the evil thugs? No doubt they are currently planning on the next part of the city to burn tonight.” Prior to being deleted, the group posted the following statement: “We are unaware if the armed citizen was answering the Kenosha Guard Militia’s call to arms. Just like with the shooting of Jacob Blake, we need all the facts and evidence to come out before we make a judgment. God bless and stay safe Kenosha!” As of this morning, the Kenosha Guard group had more than 3,000 members. Their emergence was largely due to local and state officials’ refusal to perform their duty to protect lives and property. Although Gov. Tony Evers sent 125 members of the National Guard to Kenosha on Monday, doubling it to 250 on Tuesday, those troops were only ordered to protect critical infrastructure and to “assist” local police. They took no action to protect local businesses or homes that were burned and looted by “protesters.” Some local media reports have implied that the incident was triggered after police used tear gas to disperse “protesters” who were “demonstrating” at Kenosha’s Civic Center Park. Police then drove the protesters away from the park and toward where the Kenosha Guard “vigilantes” were set up. Those accounts cannot be independently confirmed or refuted by TruNews. This afternoon, President Donald Trump announced he will be sending federal law enforcement officers and the National Guard into Kenosha to restore law and order. He added: “We will NOT stand for looting, arson, violence, and lawlessness on American streets. My team just got off the phone with Governor Evers who agreed to accept federal assistance (Portland should do the same!).” Meanwhile, video has emerged from Washington, D.C., where a group of Black Lives Matter “protesters” were recorded harassing and assaulting people dining at several outdoor restaurants in the nation’s capital. The “activists” ordered the diners to raise their fists as a sign of solidarity, and heckled and harassed those who refused (click here: https://tinyurl.com/y2a4g3wd). One woman in particular was cornered by more than two dozen black-clad “protesters” who demanded to know if she was a Christian. They then began chanting, “No justice, no peace!” and “your silence is violence.” Ironically, the woman – later identified by The Washington Post as Lauren Victor – told reporters she is a BLM supporter, but “in the moment, it didn’t feel right” to comply with the other “activist” demands.
