The Obamacare Outcome Obama Condemns

ACTION ITEM

America’s top labor leader thinks Obamacare needs changes. He recognizes the people he represents will be hurt because Congress didn’t think it through before they passed it.

Is change enough? Would you go further, and say it should be REPEALED? If so, tell Congress!

The hardwired message in DownsizeDC.org’s campaign says simply…

“I want you to repeal Obamacare.”

Obamacare passed in a rush so that the federal government could say, “Hey look, we’re doing something!”

But now, even unions dislike Obamacare. That’s because Obamacare creates a perverse incentive: Cutting employee work hours to part-time. (http://shar.es/zDPIs)

Even Obama dislikes this large, “unintended consequence.” So, he’s breaking his own law, delaying the employer insurance requirement. (http://shar.es/zDMpi)

This tells me that now…

EVERYONE, even Obama, knows it’s a bad law!

This angers me. Supporters of the law made VICIOUS accusations to get it passed. They said the bill’s critics ignored the problem of health care costs and had contempt for the poor.

They pretended that top-down, centralized control equaled “compassion.”

Some of these false accusers were members of Congress.

But in that body’s “do something” rush, they passed a law that hurts us all…

- The “individual mandate” assaults our dignity by forcing us to buy “coverage” we might not need or or want  (Candidate Obama mocked Hillary Clinton for exactly this proposal during the 2008 campaign)
- Obamacare imposes regulations and restricts options. This means more expensive care
- And that’s just a partial list of the ways it hurts

I DO NOT CONSENT to a poorly-drafted law that EVERYONE agrees is a dud.

Health insurance, along with healthcare for the poor and uninsured, can be improved and expanded in many ways. The first step is to repeal a law that makes it worse.

And so, I demand that you DEFUND and REPEAL Obamacare!
