Islam, taken seriously, is sheer poison. While there have been episodes of liberalism among Muslims, Islam’s core is truly evil.

I left Hinduism when I was around 12 or 13. I decided I would have nothing to do with a religion that had a caste system. Plus, I was not convinced about god/s.

However, my revulsion towards Hinduism has not made me write bilious pieces against it. I note its many problems, but also note that there is a trace of liberalism in Hinduism. Hinduism broadly leaves you free to do whatever you like, except for things like marriage and death – when the evil caste system does kick in (hence I’ve protected myself by using the Special Marriage Act for marriage, and by donating my body to science for death). Many Hindus are atheists. In any event, there is absolutely no crime of “apostasy” in Hinduism. So, yes, there is the evil of the caste system, but there’s no requirement for Hindus to kill non-Hindus.

My biliousness is largely reserved for Hindu Mahasabha and RSS – two fascist organisations that pretend to be Hindu. They talk about Hindutva, which is pure and unmitigated evil. Hence I’ve written a lot against this ideology of hate. But it is not Hinduism, and most Hindus reject it outright.

But when people leave Islam, they tell us things about the religion that give us pause. There’s no Islamic “apostate” who has a kind word to say about Islam.

Why so?

That’s because Islam contains a massive amount of evil. Along with (a few) liberal claims (which get a lot of airing in the press), the core of Islam remains its ongoing battle to prosletyze the world – BY FORCE. This is also called jihad.

As  you know, I despise all religion. There is no religion that doesn’t attack reason and the truth. There is no reason that doesn’t attack liberty. All religions are evil.

However, Islam is the most evil of all.

I’ll first provide links to the writings of a few Islamic apostates. Then I’ll link to articles in which others who have diligently studied Islam tell us about its core of evil.

Before I proceed, I want to note that the vast majority of Muslims are NOT evil. That’s because they were born good and since they don’t follow Islam seriously, they remain good. They are psuedo-Muslims. Which is fine by me. But the danger lurks below the surface in Islam. Any young man or woman in a Muslim family can start taking Islam seriously, and the consequences of doing so can be very grim.

What does this mean for liberalism in India?

I am talking about ISLAM, not about Muslims. I do not generalise regarding “all” Muslims or any other religious group.

Everyone is individually responsible for his/her actions.

I don’t care what people believe in, so long as they do not harm others.

I object to the government discriminating between people on the basis of their religion. I object to any discrimination by governments among refugees on the basis of their religion.

I am confident that the message of liberty will overwhelm religious bigotry over time.

At no point, and at no cost, should liberals become illiberal by becoming bigots. 

Yes, Islam is evil, and so are all religions to a greater or lesser extent. This, however, is an opinion. It has no implications for the government, which must remain entirely indifferent to a person’s religion, and enforce laws and deliver justice objectively – purely on the basis of evidence.
