New York, NY – At 12.5%, the January California Unemployment rate stands nearly 3 points higher than the national unemployment rate. The January unemployment rate is up from 12.3% in December and 12.4% in November. In January 2009 the unemployment rate in California was 9.7%.

I keep reading about congress extending unemployment benefits to the “newly unemployed”
what about those of us that have been long term unemployed?
basicly what I have been reading is that once we reach 99 weeks of collecting benefits …then that is it…no more help from our government. I want to work. I have been interviewing like crazy… so now what? will I be homeless? this is a very stressful thought.
