Snow In Egypt For The First Time In 100 Years

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

The snow that has blanketed much of the Middle East turned Cairo white on Friday – with local news reports claiming it was Egypt’s capital’s first snowfall in 112 years.

The city averages less than an inch of rain each year, and hundreds stopped their walk to work or school to snap pictures of the falling flakes, tweeting their delights.

Snow in Egypt…    How bizarre.  Doesnt happen often as you can see.  There probably isnt anyone alive from the last time it happened. Global cooling is probably more accurate no?  -Mort

      • Litlinn33

Oh pleeeeaaaaaase… It’s called meteorology. Nothing to do with your heavenly father. You gullible religious fanatics and your fluff… WAKE UP! Your precious bible won’t protect you again the rain when it turns to acid one day.

        • BeoX

Oh God forgive him/her because is speaking without knowledge…the knowledge that you gave us to judge between the good and evil, from which we will decide where to go HELL or Paradise. Praise the majesty of your Great Lord (Allahu-Ekber, Allah-Luja, God is one and the greatest of all). Amen!

        • lena83

Why do you have to be so rude? If people like rediron want to know that God has something to do with it, then why put our beliefs down. Have peace in your heart and respect others opinions.

First snow in 112 years? How chilling.

    • Anonymous

yeti on holiday in Egypt… or maybe the return of the mummy

    • Anonymous

dang global warming (oh, yeah, it’s now “climate change”.
So, do the Egyptians like the result of the geoengineering (chem trails) that is going on? Dare they protest it? Dare they send over a “terrorist” to get rid of the person behind it? (oh yeah, it’s the CIA who creates “terrorists” so they don’t need an Egyptian to take out “the one” who is the problem.)

Ice Age coming! Known to happen every 100,000 years.

    • jmark

This is bull…There are no mountains in Cairo.

      • Mayhem

I agree, all the deniers got together and funded snow machines for Cairo. Yesterday we set them running and look at the results. Fooled ya’ll.

      • Sons of Zadok

        @jmark,
you are wrong ! what about the pyramids,

      • DK

The picture is from Jabal-Katherina at over 8,600 feet in the Sinai a well known ski resort in Egypt. A good stock photo of somewhere other than Cairo in winter.

      • Mellissa

It says that much of the middle east including Cairo is covered in snow, I myself would have picked some of the images of the Pyramids covered in snow like this article did. Do an image search on Google for snow in Cairo in 2013 and you will see the many pictures of it, before calling false looking things up is intelligent. Crying bull with out actually hunting around just makes no sense.

    • RAINSCRYPT

really hoping to see some photos of snow on the pyramids.. anybody know of any photos yet?

    • Sons of Zadok

      @mayhem,
Do they know something we don’t.
I can hear them singing , ( DONT YOU KNOW ITS CHRISTMAS ). , Pyramid cone any body.

      • Mayhem

Who knows what ‘they’ know but we ought to change our focus to sustainability; then we might get to see how truly abundant this planet can be.

          Spinster Mayhem

Glad to see you getting some things right, just have to wait a bit longer before you believe HAARP weather Modification Technology.Eventually even you will clue in.
          Cheers

        • Mayhem

          HAARP can kiss my behind.

        • Mayhem

Out of respect, let me say, i’ve read everything i can find on H.A.A.R.P, how it works, what it’s supposed to do and what “they” would like to use it for but it didn’t work and was recently shut down for a change in management contract. It’s been offline 6 months now and yet did we notice a drop off in “weather weapons” usage?

Of course your claim, Anonymous, will be that this is disinfo and you could well be right but either way, as far as i can tell, only dutchsinse and infowars agree with this argument…

          Mayhem.

Interesting ‘timing’ and quoted ‘time period’
112 years is about when we were captured
We are nearly in the right rotation for the exit
      Nice post, thianks

    • Bohunk

According to Al this cold and wet weather is caused by global warming. Al says that the earth is so hot that the oceans are evaporating creating clouds, which make it rain, and the rain cooled the air giving us very low temperatures and snow. That poncy scheming money greedy slug is as much a liar as Obama. Nature controls climate change and puny man can not fight nature’s way. The eruption of the volcano in Greenland put ten times the amount of carbon stuff in the air then the amount not generated due to world government mandates for the last decade. Plants generate oxygen but need carbon to do so. We need oxygen. Nature has a way of taking care of things.

    • WatchmanOfEzekiel33

Angels do not play that HAARP

    • JustDave

    • Litlinn33

This is amazing. On the east coast of Australia the last week there was, all in the one day, snow, tornadoes, flood and a heatwave. However, the prime minister, Tony Abbott, still insists that climate change is a myth.

      • Mayhem

It’s AGW that is the myth, climate change is simply weather trending over time. Lots of time, as in decades if not generations or centuries.

The terminology is critical as both global warming and climate change happen; it’s just that man has absolutely zero discernible influence on the climate.

        • Goodbye Archons

          Well said, Mayhem.

        • Mellissa

Also since we have little to no influence over this it makes it a wonderful thing to get people to try and “change the world” over and make money getting people to feel guilty they are making their carbon foot prints. Not that the junk we spit out into the air is good, far from it. Just tell it to all the cows farting, talk about CO2 :D

        • Mayhem

I’m with you, Mellissa, sustainability is where we must put our very considerable efforts. Just as an aside and presumably not including many here but anyone under the age of 18 has never experienced global warming, anthropegenic or elsewise.

        • Mayhem

anthropegenic? Must have bumped the ‘e’, accidentally, it’s probably right beside the ‘o’ anyway.

    • Factory Farms FEAR the MooCow

No one cares… thats what mainstream will say.

At least the women will be warm. I mean, with all the clothing they have to wear to protect themselves from the lecherous male population, cynical, I know.
Would be awesome to see a picture of the pyramids covered in snow, better hit the YouTube. Oh, and by the way, Cairo is flat and those are definitely not the pyramids.

      • Mellissa

 Actually their clothes are usually made of linen or cotton, not much protection in a snow storm, many layers of linen can keep you cool in the heat and helps keep out all the sand.

If you want to see the snow in Egypt then do an image and or news search in google …..

“Global cooling is probably more accurate no? -Mort”

Actually, Mort, no. Like a lot of people, you don’t seem to understand the weather mechanism that’s causing these bizarre phenomena. You need to look to both the atmosphere and the oceans.

First the atmosphere, and this one is simple. We’re pumping a lot of energy, mostly but not entirely heat energy, into the atmosphere. When you pump more energy into the atmosphere, you automatically get a more energetic atmosphere. Hurricanes, tornadoes, and anomalous storms everywhere. And the storms themselves further disrupt normal weather patterns.

The connection to the oceans is equally simple but harder to explain: There is a great current running around the edges of every ocean in a more-or-less circular clockwise pattern. They move water from the equator to the poles and back down again. Wherever they go, the air and the landmasses closest to shore are affected by the temperature of the current, which is why Seattle, at approximately the latitude of Scotland, is considerably warmer.

The problem is that the oceans are rapidly warming up. (We’re getting subtropical marine life in Puget Sound.) So the warm water stays warmer all the way to the poles, where it warms the air. Warm air is expansive, and it pushes the cold air out. It has to go somewhere, and since it can’t go up, it flows south or north depending on the hemisphere. Hence, snow in Egypt.

      • Mayhem

Do you have anything other than your opinion to base that on, DanaC? A graph showing temperatures have increased over the last two decades would be a good start.

Come on DanaC, lets see what you got.

      • LifeIs

The oceans are not warming by any actual measurement. The Earth has not been warming by any actual measurement since the late 1990s.

The Earth has been cooling faster than the US and UK governments can compensate for, by dropping several thousand stations in cooler locations.

No warming means no “climate change” caused by warming. Weather is not “bizarre” or “extreme” these days, by any measure. We have always had storms, and heat waves, and cold fronts.

I’m curious about this from DanaC: ” We’re pumping a lot of energy, mostly but not entirely heat energy, into the atmosphere.” What is that supposed to mean?

        • Mayhem

Any idea how big that atmosphere is, DanaC?

      • Merkin

“Actually, Mort, no. Like a lot of people, you don’t seem to understand the weather mechanism that’s causing these bizarre phenomena. You need to look to both the atmosphere and the oceans.”

Actually.. this might confuse a lot of “human global warming” folks but you need to look up to see the major cause of “global warming” and “global cooling”.

It’s big.. it’s orange. It’s warm and luminous. It goes through cycles. Oh never mind…..

Sounds like the (pumping carbon) = “auto-magically you wouldn’t get it” “atmosphere” “oceans” equation has all the data we need.

    • wendy

No surprise…this part of the world use to be green and lush long ago. To me this is a sign the earth is doing the normal cycle. Just because we have never seen snow there in our life time doesn’t mean it has never snowed there before. We are going to see things on this earth that will blow our minds, so hang on it’s gonna be a bumpy ride. And your wrong Litilnn33 the bible does show us truth, but if your closed minded you’re gonna die…so long dummy!

    • patriot156

Well figuring that the link goes to huffington post, and not some other allternative news site like this one; this is real.
Yes God will and does protect his elect he has me several times.
Weird weather in diverse locations for sure, so ya sign of times.

      • Mayhem

The last few years have recorded the lowest storm activity in ages. What are you on about patriot156?

        • Merkin

There is no time to delay. We must all believe without question, that humans are causing the global warming, even if it means that the warming shows up as snow storms. It might seem counter to the evidence but that is what the big companies want you to think.

It’s clear the “hockey stick” “cancer” warming is melting the snow in places we can’t see and shifting it to Cairo and places we can. The latest rounds of carbon taxes used to spray heat reflective aluminum in the sky can be correlated with snow in the middle east to prove that we are winning the war on global warming! But only a little.

If even one child loses faith in Global Warming then there will be no Christmas this year Timmy.

        • Mayhem

If you say so, Merkin. Knowledge updated accordingly.

          Cold is the new Hot.

Can i be afraid now? Sir!
