VAristocrats: love our veterans or leave VA now

Los Angeles County is the homeless veterans’ capital of the USA. Ironically, it’s also the place where veterans are land owners denied the right to use their property. For years now, VA and local elite members have been juggling the keys to the padlocked estate which by the way, was deeded to disabled and homeless heroes back in 1888.”Sharing not leasing” profiteers barricaded the gates against homeless veterans and got so used to cheerful misappropriation, that they weren’t ashamed to file for appeal when federal judgment reminded them that they do not own the land and have no right to use it.

Silent heroes and silenced heroes

A citation for “stealing government property” for a disabled veteran fishing for food and “profitable” cans in a trash bin, an arrest for homeless veteran pushing “misappropriated” shopping cart, acute mental and physical suffering for a distressed homeless veteran in wheelchair…VA has to bear the odium of neglecting veterans in need, and it’s clear that local officials would rather not air their dirty laundry in public. Incidentally, blatant violation of veterans’ human rights elevates the problem to not even national, but international level. It’s astonishing how many people managed to enrich themselves at the cost of misery of local vulnerable population.Happily, there was someone who stood with homeless veterans. Quite literally…Pattonesque Robert Rosebrock and The Old Veterans Guard have held hundreds of consecutive Sunday Rallies to “Save Our Veterans Land,” and to “Bring Our Homeless Veterans Home.” Interestingly, on more than one occasion the peaceful protesters were “monitored” by police. It seems the local law enforcement is so overwhelmed with the “honourable duty” of putting pressure on elderly veterans that they just won’t have time to investigate rampant corruption, cronyism, fraud facilitation – and you know the whole shebang…While elderly and disabled veterans seem to be “usual suspects” in L.A County, the police was incredibly patient and respectful during an Iranian demonstration, quite ironically held less than a half-mile away from protesting veterans. The arms of the law did not remove an Iranian protester who climbed upon the Spanish-American War Memorial; the fuzz remained unfazed even by Iranian banner placed on the fence of the Los Angeles National Cemetery, the burial place of more than 80 000 of American Veterans…

If a homeless, disabled veteran should be jailed for collecting cans (“sharing the wealth”?), the punishment for misappropriation of veterans’ property and neglect of human rights should fit the crime. Unfortunately the old crony-phoney show is far from being over. Toxic desk jockeys are still around and well. Donna Beiter notorious for violating Veteran’s Constitutional Rights to Free Speech still lives rent –free in a luxurious mansion on veterans’ property. Ralph Tillman and co still “takes care of assets” and communicating with VAristocrats is about as easy as obtaining Papal Audience. It’s painfully visible that the beaurocratic patricians grew in their chairs, forgetting that their job is to serve and protect veterans. This is VA’s duty, they grant veterans no favour. People who can’t stand constructive criticism shouldn’t opt for careers in management, those who despise whistleblowers make bad leaders; those with integrity-phobia should not work with American veterans.Yes, our veterans can be maddening –if you expect them to back down, and yep, they will ask you to cut Bravo Sierra if you patronise them. They are determined, loyal, patriotic and do not take no for an answer. For exactly this reason they served and protected us, ready for any sacrifice. They still do, so love our veterans or leave VA now.
