Twitter’s next CEO will start when platform stabilizes, likely by the end of 2023
It seems that Elon Musk’s critics would have to come to terms with the idea that the Tesla and SpaceX CEO would still be leading Twitter for the most part this year. While speaking at the World Government Summit, Musk noted that the end of 2023 is actually pretty “good timing” to find a new Twitter CEO.
Musk leads several high-profile companies, and his turbulent acquisition of social media platform Twitter last year was a very newsworthy event. Thus, when he attended the World Government Summit virtually, it was no surprise that Musk was asked if he had already determined who would replace him as Twitter’s chief executive.
In his response, Musk noted that he would like Twitter to stabilize first before the company’s top management changes. This makes quite a bit of sense, as it would provide Musk with some time to ensure that the company is on solid footing before it changes its leadership.

“I think I need to stabilize the organization and just make sure it’s in a financially healthy place and that the product road map is clearly laid out,” Musk said, adding that “probably towards the end of this year would be good timing” to find someone else to run the company.
Musk also noted that while his ownership of the social media company has been a rollercoaster of sorts, he believes that Twitter is still an incredibly valuable tool for communication. This is true for people across the globe.
Elon Musk has confirmed that he will not be staying on as Twitter’s CEO indefinitely. Back in December, Musk posted a poll on Twitter asking users of the social media platform if they would like him to step down as the company’s chief executive.

At the time, Musk also noted that he would abide by the results of the poll. Around 17.5 million accounts voted on the poll, with 57.5% in favor of Musk departing Twitter’s CEO post. Musk stated then that he would step down as Twitter CEO “as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job!”
