Capitalism is closest to nature where the strong and fit survive and thrive, while the weak die off. It is very very difficult to live off the land and survive in nature, hence people form societies and transform the land by cultivating farms and building infrastructure and homes. Destruction of the environment, rampant disease, and other miseries happen with urban blight and getting too far away from nature. There needs to be a balance between not drifting too far from nature, and making life more bearable and healthy. Capitalism tempered by providing opportunity to everyone in society is the way to go. Govt sucks, but we are all dumped in this world. We didn’t ask to be here, but here we are and we can’t avoid each other so we have to come up with a way to coexist and ideally cooperate. Failing to care for the least fortunate is not only a sin against God, but also weakens society. Failure to reward success and motivate leads to poverty for everyone. I loath socialism that centralizes corrupt govt power and steals wealth and motivation to succeed. This pope is clearly evil imo, but almost everyone would be forced to agree some spectrum of socialism is needed. Otherwise denial of medical care, lack of universal education, lack of social security, and lack of other govt services results.
