Gaslighting Continues Apace

The gaslighting by the media, Democrats, and the Deep state never ends. Case in point: narratives about the new vaccines.

During a CNN townhall last week, participant Dr. Kelly Moore, associate director of the Immunization Action Coalition, opined with regard to vaccinating “frail elderly” in long-term care facilities:

We would not at all be surprised to see, coincidentally, vaccination happening and then having someone pass away a short time after they receive a vaccine, not because it has anything to do with the vaccination but just because that’s the place where people at the end of their lives reside. …

One of the things we want to make sure people understand is that they should not be unnecessarily alarmed if there are reports, once we start vaccinating, of someone or multiple people dying within a day or two of their vaccination who are residents of a long-term care facility. That would be something we would expect, as a normal occurrence, because people die frequently in nursing homes.

Got that? Mind you, for months we’ve been subjected to anxiety-inducing news stories featuring scary graphs allegedly showing an ever-climbing number of cases and deaths from COVID-19.

The recent “surge” in cases and deaths is everywhere hyped by the mainstream media, seemingly designed to keep the public frightened (and blaming President Trump).

Nearly half of deaths in the U.S. attributed to the virus have occurred in nursing homes. Attributed, however, is an imprecise term.

The media carefully report these deaths as persons dying with COVID-19, not of or from the virus.

Just as the frail elderly may “coincidentally” die shortly after receiving a vaccine, so may they also “coincidentally” die after testing positive for COVID-19.

While Dr. Moore is careful to warn citizens not to be unduly alarmed when people coincidentally die after being vaccinated, few doctors similarly warn us not to be unduly alarmed when people coincidentally die “with” the virus.

To be fair and balanced, to not insult the intelligence of the American people, and to not mislead, lie, or promote fake news, the media should be consistent:

Frail elderly individuals die with COVID-19.

Frail elderly individuals die after vaccination.

Right? The devil is in the preposition. If deaths of frail elderly with co-morbidities after vaccination cannot be attributed to vaccination because they were like to die soon anyway (to paraphrase Dickens), then similarly deaths of frail elderly with co-morbidities who have or are presumed to have COVID-19 cannot be attributed to COVID-19 because they were like to die soon, anyway.

The CDC has reported, and we are to believe these experts, that only about 6% of reported deaths are from, caused by, COVID-19 alone.

So all the alarming stories about hundreds of thousands of deaths attributed to this virus are gaslighting of the highest order, because even those who died outside nursing homes had two or more serious co-morbidities.

Other factors to consider are the high number of false positives resulting from lab tests–

Unfortunately, tests for the presence of the bug are prone to false positives. … The test can mistake past infections as current, or even tag infections of other coronaviruses. The one causing COVID-19 is only one among many. …

According to The COVID Tracking Project, in September we averaged over 800,000 tests every single day. Over one million tests were conducted on several days.

Even a tiny false-positive rate at this level is a problem. Take the 1 percent false-positive rate, cited by some. If 5 percent of the public has the disease at one time, a million tests will produce 9,500 false “new cases.”

–and how deaths can be coded as COVID-19-linked, based upon presumption or probability, not a lab test:

COVID-19 deaths are identified using a new ICD–10 code. When COVID-19 is reported as a cause of death – or when it is listed as a “probable” or “presumed” cause — the death is coded as U07.1. This can include cases with or without laboratory confirmation.

Further evidence of gaslighting are recent stories claiming that four days early in December 2020 were among the most deadly in U.S. history, something that is ridiculous on its face.

Thousands of citizens die every day, in the course of normal life. Given the sketchiness involved in attributing deaths to COVID-19, the hype becomes even more ridiculous and concerning.

What are they up to? What’s next? Do they really think we’re this stupid?

Apparently so.

Now we’re being gaslighted over the good news of a vaccine, told that even after vaccination we still must wear masks and social distance and/or that there’s no guarantee that vaccination means you can’t acquire the virus in your nose and become contagious.

In which case, why bother? Why spend all this time, effort, and money?
