Light Bulb Ban Bill Signed By Bush Was Heavily Influenced By The Apollo Alliance

Good vs. Evil, The Empire vs. The Rebel Alliance, Hitler vs. The Allies, God vs. Satan… People traditionally love to fit situations into nice, neat, stereo typical boxes so that their brain, and their conscience, can easily digest it.

Unfortunately, reality refuses to work that way.

In Politics it’s easier to paint your opponent as “the bad guy” while simultaneously claiming that your side is “the good guy”. Democrats and Republicans are well known for over using this tactic to the extent that their die hard followers, who would rather regurgitate what is fed to them instead of hunting for their own knowledge, will spew verbatim the concepts of “Us Good”…. “Them Evil”.

But again, political reality also doesn’t work that way.

For example…

Recently the Republican’s tried to reverse the law that forced out the Edison light bulb, some on the “Right” called it Obama’s evil ban on light bulbs. The problem with that is it wasn’t Obama’s law, it was Bush’s.

The Ban (really it is forcing it out through energy efficiency standards) on the Edison light bulb was a law singed by Republican President George W Bush under a bill that was titled “The Energy Independence and Security Act” and was passed on December 18,2007.

Who helped heavily influence this Bill that was signed by a Republican President?

The Apollo Alliance of course.

The Apollo Alliance was a communist affiliated, George Soros funded, organization that consisted of progressive groups like the Sierra Club and The Center for American Progress. (The Apollo Alliance is now known as The Blue Green Alliance). The Apollo Alliance is credited with writing President Obama’s first stimulus and is responsible for creating Obama’s current economic plan called “The New Apollo Program”. The New Apollo Program calls for a 10 year ‘investment’ that will transform the U.S. economy into a “Green Collar” economy. This concept calls for the creation of a Smart Grid, better fuel efficiency for cars, with the desired end result being electric vehicles in every garage, better energy efficiency for home appliances and even things such as more efficient light bulbs. These measures are meant to ‘Help’ the American people conserve energy in order to help reduce ‘Green House Gases’ (CO2) and therefore combat Global Warming (Climate Change).

One of the Co-Founders of The Apollo Alliance is a Democratic Congressman from Washington State named Jay Inslee. According to Jay’s own Congressional website, he is the one responsible for “authorizing” the “visionary requirements” for things such as “lighting” in the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007:

“As a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, I have been a champion of clean energy legislation, including authoring several provisions that passed into law in the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, which included the first Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standard increase in 30 years; a Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS) that calls for 36 billion gallons a year of homegrown biofuels, with a focus on next-generation cellulosic ethanol, at the pump by the year 2022; and, visionary requirements for lighting, heating, cooling and building efficiency. Provisions that I sponsored included program to deploy plug-in electric hybrid vehicles or other emerging electric vehicle technologies, a new research and development program to produce renewable energy from waves, tides and river currents, and language that urges public utilities to separate, or decouple, gas and electricity sales from profits to promote energy conservation.”

After President Bush signed the Energy Independence and Security Act into law, The Apollo Alliance hailed it as “the most important energy legislation in a generation”:

“The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 passed yesterday by the US House of Representatives and last week by the Senate takes big strides toward building a new clean energy economy, in the process creating new opportunities for American business and next-generation “green collar” jobs for American workers. The legislation, which passed the House by a vote of 314 to 100 and the Senate by a vote of 86 to 8, was signed this morning by President Bush in a ceremony at the Department of Energy(DOE).

The bill has rightly been hailed as the most important energy legislation in a generation. When fully implemented, it will cut US oil consumption by more than we now import from the Persian Gulf and Venezuela and cut greenhouse gas emissions by a quarter of the reductions needed by 2030 to avoid the worst impacts of global warming.”

In case some of you think that President Bush signed the bill by mistake and didn’t know what was in it, think again.

Jay Inslee co-authored a Book with Center for American Progress member, and “The New Apollo Program” Architect, Bracken Hendricks. The book was titled “Apollo’s Fire” in which Jay Inslee recounts several meetings with President Bush. During those meetings Bush not only said he believes in Global Warming but promised to do something about it. One of these meetings was held in February of 2007 at a Democratic House Caucus retreat.

During the signing ceremony for the Energy Independence and Security Act, President Bush even praised the Bill as a “major step towards energy independence and confronting global warming” but at the end of his speech called it a “Good Bill” which he was “Pleased to sign”:

“Today we make a major step with the Energy Independence and Security Act. We make a major step toward reducing our dependence on oil, confronting global climate change, expanding the production of renewable fuels and giving future generations of our country a nation that is stronger, cleaner and more secure.

…..and so I thank the members of Congress. I appreciate the fact that we’ve worked together, that we can show what’s possible in addressing the big issues facing our nation. This is a good bill and I’m pleased to sign it.”

So much for “Good Guys vs. Bad Guys” huh?

President Bush has the dubious honor of signing the first Bill into Law that not only was heavily influenced by the Communist Apollo Alliance, but also is responsible for allowing the firing of the first significant shot by the ‘Green’ Revolutionaries while under his watch.

But Bush doesn’t share this shame alone, 56 Republicans from the House and Senate voted for this travesty.

Funny how those individuals ‘Transforming’ the U.S. economy into a ‘Green’ Hell are not always those whom you would expect.

Sometimes it’s the same people that you have come to see as “The Good Guys”.

But it is becoming more apparent every day that in ‘Political Reality’…..

The “Good Guys”….. are few and far between.
