Allegedly, Children of Same-Sex Unions are “Happier” and “Healthier”

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

It is amazing what many on the left will resort to in an attempt to prove that what goes against nature is better than what nature provides. Apparently, in a recent study, it was determined that children of same-sex partners are not only healthier but happier as well, this “according to researchers at the University of Melbourne in Australia.”

Lead researcher Simon Crouch noted, “It’s often suggested that children with same-sex parents have poorer outcomes because they’re missing a parent of a particular sex. But research my colleagues and I published in the journal BMC Public Health shows this isn’t the case.”

According to the study, “Children from same-sex families scored about 6 percent higher on general health and family cohesion, even when controlling for socio-demographic factors such as parents’ education and household income, Crouch wrote. However, on most health measures, including emotional behavior and physical functioning, there was no difference compared with children from the general population.

I cannot help but wonder whether or not at least part of this is due to the fact that in many ways, if these outcomes are due to so many safeguards in place that actually elevate this type of situation to celeb status? All too often, people wind up tripping over themselves to express their appreciation for two gay people who are brave enough to buck the system, not only by marrying, but by having children as well.

Due to political correctness (aka Cultural Marxism), more often than not, saying anything negative regarding this type of situation is tantamount to physically attacking someone and seriously frowned upon in society. Consider the fact that every time some celebrity “comes out” on a national talk show, what is the immediate reaction of the audience? Uproarious clapping, hooting, hollering, and whistling. The audience members want that individual to know that they are 100% supportive of the fact that they are gay.

I say “who cares?” I don’t need to know about anyone’s sex life or private life. What is it to me? By the same token, should we applaud a celebrity who “comes out” by revealing that they are deeply into S & M or bondage, or if a male, they like to wear women’s clothing? I just don’t care and why should I? Moreover, why should they need my approval for what they do or how they think?

Society though is often filled with followers who do not want to be different from the crowd. They bend over backwards to show that there is not an ounce of bigotry in them when it comes to receiving gay and lesbian tell alls.

I think at least some of this research has to do with the fact that it is more than unacceptable to speak a harsh word or even state that you personally are opposed to same-sex unions or those within a same-sex union adopting children. Societal peer pressure under the terms of political correctness has a great deal to do with it.

What I find even more interesting though is that the research has determined that by and large, children of same-sex parents are happier and healthier than their non-gay counterparts. Though the study states that they took into consideration “socio-demographic factors such as parents’ education and household income,” but nowhere did I read where they considered societal peer pressure to have any impact on the situation. While bullying still exists, by and large, most people will defend same-sex couples and homosexuality itself because of political correctness. Of course, the article doesn’t specifically explain what they mean by “bullying” either. For many, this article constitutes “bullying.”

Instead, Crouch notes, “Crouch suggested the greater social cohesion among same-sex families comes from an equal distribution of work. He said same-sex couples are likely to share responsibilities more equally than heterosexual ones.” Interesting, but notice Crouch “suggested,” which is far different from stating unequivocally based on facts. I’m not sure where Crouch and his team came up with that. Was a separate study done to determine how work loads were distributed in same-sex verses non-same-sex relationships? You cannot simply “suggest” something based on how you think or believe and then apply that to an official study of something else.

In too many ways, this study is trying to show that same-sex unions are “better” for any numbers of reasons, not least of which is the alleged fact that to gay people share the work load more equally. I want to see the facts, not some suggestion.

Others, like Benjamin Siegel, professor of pediatrics at the Boston University School of Medicine, doubt the veracity of the study. He indicated “last year that none of the studies has been a randomized, controlled trial and that all studies on same-sex parenting are small since there aren’t as many same-sex parents.

Gay activists – in my opinion – are trying way too hard to be the norm. They desperately want the world to accept homosexuality as normal and those who cannot fall in line should be silenced. It will come to that with additional laws regarding “hate speech” that will have jail time and/or fines imposed on those who cannot comply.

Following the article I’ve quoted from, one particular individual – “FrenchChef” – felt the need to go after anyone who had a different opinion related to the article. This is but a subtle form of peer pressuring people into silence.

All of this is part of Satan’s plan to overthrow God’s biblical values by undermining anything and everything that smacks of it. It is sad and tragic what is happening in society, but according to Scripture, it is destined to occur.

To think, what was understood as abnormal just a few decades ago is now a situation where society is being forced to accept as normal…or else. Studies can be skewed to obtain desired results on any issue. Whether or not the information gained from those studies are accurate or not, they will reinforce what the powers that be want to see happen in society. From that vantage point, peer pressure will do the rest.
