L.A. County Officials Blame Racism and Stigma for Explosion of Sexually Transmitted Diseases

The moral degeneracy implicit in liberalism is causing sexually transmitted diseases to become epidemic in South Sodom, a.k.a. Los Angeles County. No worries; authorities know just what to do: encourage children to have sex. Safe sex, of course!

See if you can guess whether this actual headline is from The Onion or today’s Los Angeles Times:

STDs in L.A. County are skyrocketing. Officials think racism and stigma may be to blame

The piece approvingly describes children being figuratively showered with condoms and forced to put them on dildos in front of each other.

Many health experts say that public health problems are best tackled outside the doctor’s office — that fixing the culture that perpetuates them is more effective than changing a single patient’s behavior.

True enough. But then comes the next sentence:

For sexual health, that means combating the stigma around sex.

Back before depravity and promiscuity were relentlessly promoted by the liberal establishment, STD rates were much lower, which helps us understand why stigma evolved.

But the issue is never the issue with progressives. The issue is always the revolution. If it would advance the revolution to tell people that the cure for a sore thumb is to bash it with a hammer again, that is the advice clumsy carpenters would receive.

What really does advance the revolution is degeneracy. So L.A. County combats STDs by trying to reduce stigma even further.

Since STDs are bad, they can’t really be spread by the liberal lifestyle. They must be spread by racism:

The county recently created a Center for Health Equity to evaluate the way certain public health issues are intertwined with social factors such as income and education, as well as racial discrimination.

Until everyone is in the exact same state of health regardless of individual decisions, the Center for Health Equity’s work will not be done.

High STD rates are at the top of the center’s list of priorities. In just the past five years, the number of gonorrhea cases in Los Angeles County doubled, with minorities suffering more than most.

If it occurred to you that this is a reflection of minorities being more sexually irresponsible, you just proved that racism is so rampant that you yourself are a racist.

More proof that racism spreads STDs:

Neighborhoods where people of color reside, for example, are more likely to be pollution-ridden and have fewer parks and doctors — factors that directly affect people’s health.

Heather Jue Northover, Director of the Center for Health Equity, provides still more evidence that rising STD rates are a social justice issue:

Northover said that officials need to evaluate what’s called structural or systemic racism, the way housing or education policies may negatively impact people and their health. Studies have found, for example, that people with HIV who had low levels of literacy were less likely to follow their treatment, and that poorer Americans were more likely to engage in risky sexual behavior, increasing their risk of STDs.

Who is responsible for low levels of literacy among those with politically preferred pigmentation? Racists, apparently.

Note that poverty also plays a role. Maybe giving immoral degenerates people with sexually risky lifestyles other people’s money will help.

Just when I was starting to think this absurd piece might be on the level, I reached the conclusion and burst into laughter. The author quotes Dr. Michael Hochman, a “senior health deputy” for County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas:

“If you keep doing the same thing and expect a different result, then that’s insanity,” Hochman said.

If having kids put condoms on dildos does not reduce the degeneracy that drives STDs, why not try something that really is different from what they have been taught for decades now, like teaching morality and personal responsibility instead of debauchery?
