Andrew Cuomo Says He Will Sue if Roe v. Wade Is Overturned

Shrieking “That’s racist” isn’t the only instinctive reaction that characterizes progressives. When faced with the possibility of a Supreme Court decision not to his liking, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo reflexively screams, “I’ll sue”:

Cuomo says he’ll sue if the Supreme Court rolls back Roe v. Wade.

Sue whom? In what court?

“We never passed the New York State law because we relied on Roe v. Wade and everyone assumed it would always be there,” Gov. Cuomo said.

In the unlikely event that Roe v. Wade is overturned, it would only be an admission that there is nothing in the Constitution about abortion. That would leave it up to states to pass laws, the way the Founders intended. What are the odds that a state liberal enough to elect Andrew Cuomo to be Governor would pass laws restricting abortions? If anything, abortion would become even more accessible.

Overturning Roe v. Wade is not about abortion. It is about whether the USA is a constitutional republic or an oligarchy ruled by a black-robed junta. If the Supreme Court can legislate by pretending the Constitution says whatever they want it to say, then it is an oligarchy.
