In 1975, Gerald Ford in Helsinki with Brezhnev, 35 other countries, recognized the territorial sovereignty of the Soviet Union which included the nations of Eastern Europe. In 1979, Jimmy Carter placed a big wet kiss on Brezhnev’s cheek in Vienna.
All of this hysteria about this press conference, the president said I could have said it better, I should have said this and they act like it’s the apocalypse. It’s not.
The left in this country has defended the Rosenbergs, they defended Alger Hiss. They defended Ted Kennedy in 1983 and 1984 when he was colluding with the Kremlin to defeat Reagan. The left, the Democrats in the country opposed the Strategic Defense Initiative which had as its purpose to defend us against Russian nuclear missiles, they called it “Star Wars.” To this day, the left won’t fund it. To this day, the Democrat party opposes it. They oppose the Pershing II missiles, to modernize medium-range nuclear missiles which you eventually put in Europe, again to defeat the Soviet Union.
If, in fact, Donald Trump had turned to Vladimir Putin after a 2 hour private meeting, after setting up this summit and all of a sudden and all of the sudden turns to Putin and says look, you little bastard, we know you inteferred in our election, they would be attacking Trump today. The way that Trump turned to the Germans and NATO, and said, hey, you’re buying 70% of your natural gas from the Ruskis, you’re funding their war machine and then you ask us to subsidize you?
The media and the Democrats and the same people went nuts. But some more facts. Obama as president, Obama did nothing effective at all to stop the Russians interfering in our election. He’s the one who ought to be under investigation. No pushback for the invasion of Georgia. No pushback for the annexation of Crimea. No pushback for the invasion of eastern Ukraine. No pushback from Russia’s criminal shootdown of flight MH-17. He capitulated to Russia in Syria, the redlines, his betrayal of Poland and the Czech Republic by acceding to Russia’s demand to remove U.S. missile defense systems there. He betrayed The Ukraine by refusing them with defensive weapons.
Now contrast that disaster, that utter appeasement to what Trump has done in the 18 months. He’s expanded sanctions on Russian companies and apparatchiks, he’s expanded and beefed up NATO. He’s had a massive increase in U.S. defense spending no thanks to the liberals. Restoring missile defenses to Poland and the Czech Republic. Returning heavy armored divisions to Germany. Prepositioning armored divisions in the Baltics. Ending arms embargoes on The Ukraine and Georgia that Obama imposed on victims of Russian aggression. Ending the ban of oil exports to try and compete with the Russians when it comes to their oil.

We have the Washington Post (CIA Post) accusing our President of “openly colluding with the criminal leader of a hostile foreign power.” To soften opposition to the coup d’etat + assassination intended.
Gee, I thought the CIA was globalist. We have borders now? There are foreign countries?
The Left ( “If I Only Had a Brain”) sold their souls for a small part in the production. They provide the illusion of a popular uprising. They get to feel powerful for days.
“Every battle is won, before it is fought.” The enemies of the President, of the country, of the public, look / sound desperate. And weak. They smell of defeat.
The last President who tried to work with Russia, tone down the “Cold War”, get out of stupid foreign armed interventions, and regain control of the Military-Industrial Complex was John F. Kennedy. It is clear how that turned out – a MIC assassination and coup.
President Trump is trying to do the same things, but retain just enough allegiance in the military and CIA/FBI/… that he doesn’t get Kennedy’d. That takes some delicate footwork and timing, and he has to get it right the first time. If he gets Kennedy’d our hopes for a free nation will die with him.

Kennedy didn’t do those things. He overthrew the Diem regime and started the Vietnam War. He ordered the Bay of Pigs invasion. He ordered a coup in Iraq, which we now deny responsibility for. He nearly started. a nuclear war, over missiles in Cuba.
President Trump has the support of the military, the NSA, and the public. He is opposed by the CIA, the media they control, the FBI, and the politicians they control. You can count young Leftists and universities if you want, but they are paper tigers. You can count the big cities, and the teachers unions, but all they really care about is getting paid.
Kennedy inherited an MIC from Eisenhower that had amassed great influence and control. The Vietnam War started around 1950, with U.S. “advisors” to the French military effort which was largely funded by the U.S. America was directly involved from 1955 on. By 1961, when Kennedy inherited the mess from Eisenhower, he found he had almost no control. And, he was pretty much (IMO) clueless what to do about it. By 1963 he had decided it was a terrible mistake and was looking for an exit – which infuriated the MIC.
The Bay of Pigs was April 1961, after Kennedy had been in office only 3 months, and was a CIA cluster-fuck from start to finish. Did Kennedy know the full truth of the situation? It was a CIA ploy. The idea was to create a military takeover of Cuba, with the initial CIA invasion failing and necessitating use of the U.S. armed forces to prop it up. Kennedy, to his credit, saw the ruse and refused to involve the U.S. military when the initial CIA action began to fail.
It’s not clear just how much involvement the US had in the 1963 Iraq revolution. Probably some, given the history of the CIA.
The “Cuban Missile Crisis” scared the shit out of Kennedy and Khrushchev. The crisis ended with the grand bargain whereby the USSR removed missiles from Cuba, and the US reciprocally removed its nuclear missiles from Turkey, with a net reduction of tensions on both sides.
