Rep Andy Harris Reflects on Attack by Moonbats Thugs

Congressman Andy Harris (R-MD) reports from the front lines on what it is like to deal with today’s Democrat base:

I was physically confronted Tuesday by aggressive, pot-smoking agitators at my Capitol Hill office. They attempted to shove open a private door, throwing their shoulders into it and injuring my wrist in the process…

The moonbats were angry because Harris is not on board with legalizing recreational marijuana. So much for the argument that chronic pot smokers will just mellow out while they wait for their next welfare check rather than pose a threat to others in their impaired condition.

Harris has the background to see where the no-holds-barred, in-your-face tactics openly encouraged by Maxine Waters are heading:

My parents fled communist Eastern Europe, where people were harassed, imprisoned, or shot for their political views. They instilled in me a deep-rooted respect for differing opinions offered in a civilized manner. When people substitute physical intimidation for deliberative debate, our democratic system starts to break down.

An obvious example of it beginning to break down is the appalling travesty Democrats have made of Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation. If the system calls for Kavanaugh to be confirmed because he is supremely qualified and elections have consequences, then to hell with the system and to hell with the election. All that matters is to destroy the enemy by any means possible.

Our system of government cannot function when it has been infested with people who think like that, as Dianne Feinstein, Cory Booker, and the rest of the Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee have made obvious.

As for the thugs on the street Democrats whip up to serve as intimidators,

Tweeting about the altercation that took place at my office Tuesday, Majority Whip Steve Scalise said it best: “Assaulting anyone because you disagree with them is NEVER acceptable.”

Scalise is an authority on the issue, having been shot and nearly killed by Bernie Bro James Hodgkinson for being a Republican.

We must return to civility. We need to be able to agree to disagree, and express our disagreements through the democratic process.

Democrats are fine with that. But only while they are getting their way.
