The nearest I could come to this was reading Daniel Boones diary on some settlers from the south going to the territory to make it a slave state he was escorting settlers along the Mississippi where there was an arguement between pro and anti slavers on making Tennessie a slave state, the difference at the time was profound in that it was between white Irish/Scott/English and corporates/federalists, originally most slavery was white and indenturement for at least 10 years of which many were abused, but it was a fact of life at the time, blacks however were slave owners and slaves in africa and it was normal for life, they had no sense that this was wrong so became easy prey for corporates where the factors were prepared to breed with the slaves to ensure originally Irish females never left the plantation since they would stay on for their children. Laws were enacted to ensure children born to slaves/indentures were slaves for life. There was a difference between the forms that had existed, the Irish/Scott indentured was treated like dipsosable vermin, a Black House slave like a member of the Household, a slave state was a corporate state i.e. its economy was based on corporate industries and plantations owned by multinationals who used slave labour, the majority of citizens therein never owned a slave but considered being one a normal part of life fo black and white one which you could leave or be freed from. Most factors were former british and french nobility whose remaining family fortunes depended upon the corporations success and if you want racists or the evils of slavery look no further than those whos world view and way of life depended upon it, this can apply to others as well such as Miss Lamar I do believe.
