Comedian Refuses to Sign Political Correctness Pledge

Konstantin Kisin was born in the Soviet Union. From there, life took him downhill, deeper into suffocating tyranny. He tried working as a comedian in Britain in the age of political correctness gone amok.

Kisin was going to perform free of charge for a January 23 fundraising event organized by the Unicef on Campus society at the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies. But first he had to sign a “behavioral agreement form” forbidding him from telling jokes that are not “respectful and kind” (i.e., that are funny) on a wide variety of topics that are sacred to the sort of moonbats who would raise funds for the UN. From the form:

By signing this contract, you are agreeing to our no-tolerance policy with regards to racism, sexism, classism, ageism, ableism, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, xenophobia, Islamophobia or anti-religion or anti-atheism.

According to student leaders, these rigid speech restrictions are necessary so as to create a humor-free “safe space” characterized by “joy, love, and acceptance.” I hope they don’t also ban Dramamine, because nausea could get to be a problem in these safe spaces.

To his credit, Kisin pulled out, refusing to sign the agreement on the grounds that it is a “threat to freedom of speech.”

Let’s hope most people chose as wisely when they reach the inevitable fork in the road forcing them to choose between having a sense of humor and being politically correct.
