The whole National Capitol Region is infested with a great number of partisan civil service (non-appointed) federal employees. They are neither right or left but will support any candidate that promises to expand their branch of government (usually left) for personal benefit. That’s one reason they don’t like Trump and other conservatives. Many believe the growth in personnel and agency scope will help them climb the promotion ladder and ultimately serve as resume padding to help them land a lucrative private sector job upon departing government service. Others believe this way because their “leaders” do and have succumb to “group think” pressure instead of thinking things through. This self serving inclination leads to wasteful decisions and actions that are contrary to what organizations funded with tax payer dollars should be doing.
