Taking the Ham Out of Hamburger

Popular though it may be, the hamburger is living on borrowed time. Not only does it stand accused by progressive ideologues of causing the climate to fluctuate, it is offensive to sacred Muslims — or at least liberal dhimmis think it might be.

Business Insider reports on Burger King in South Africa:

On Friday the chain confirmed it has changed the names of three of its products. What was previously known as a “Double Spicy Hamburger” will now just be a “Double Spicy Burger”; the “Triple Hamburger with Cheese” becomes the “Triple Burger with Cheese”, and a “Hamburger King Jr” on the kids menu will now be just a “Kids Burger”.

The names are being changed “to be more respectful of” its halaal client base, the chain said in a statement.

Condescendingly assuming that Muslims are too savage to understand that hamburgers are not made out of ham qualifies as respectful in the context of political correctness. This used to be called the “soft bigotry of low expectations.”

In defense of Burger King, it would not be out of character for Muslims to demand the syllable “ham” be dropped from the word “hamburger.” Earlier, they belligerently proclaimed that a Burger King graphic representing ice cream actually spelled out Allah in Arabic sideways. Burger King obsequiously did away with the graphic.

The chain also buckles to nanny Nazis, having pulled soda from the kiddie menu in an attempt to appease them.

Past adventures in moonbattery by the woke junk food chain include encouraging its customers to throw milkshakes at Brexit supporters, marketing meals with names like “Don’t Give a F***,” and serving feminist propaganda with its fries.
