The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta is projecting the US economy to contract by 42% in the second quarter, by comparison it was a 33% contraction over a longer period during the Great Depression.The capital markets are dead. Technically we’ve been in a depression since 08. The Federal Reserve has suspended the free market and its never coming back. It’s a centrally managed economy for Wall Street. All price action is rationally planned by the central bank.

The Fed isn’t allowing the market to correct properly to reflect the real economic conditions affecting Main Street, thereby setting itself up for a colosal black swan event down the road. What we have here is a dummy dead cat bounce, with a market melt up top before a more severe second leg down. The ‘29 crash experienced a six month sucker rally before the whole thing went into collapse mode and did not recover til 1952. The markets are divorced from the real economy, and the bad news is good news mantra that many are familiar with, inevitably reflects the capital market dystopia that signals to everyone continued Fed interventions via liquidity injections vis a vis the NY fed trading desk.
