AOC backs Sanders for president, ignores Biden in brief 60 seconds remarks

I’m surprised. I thought for sure she would have nominated Che Guevara .

NBC News:
In one of the shortest speeches of the convention, progressive star Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez did not endorse Biden for president Tuesday but instead endorsed his 2020 rival, Bernie Sanders.

“In a time when millions of people in the United States are looking for deep systemic solutions to our crises of mass evictions, unemployment, and lack of health care, and espíritu del pueblo and out of a love for all people, I hereby second the nomination of Senator Bernard Sanders of Vermont for president of the United States of America,” she said.

AOC rages after DNC speech misfire

Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez got a firsthand taste Tuesday of what conservatives routinely experience when the media purposefully take their actions or words out of context so as to portray them in a negative light and “generate hate-clicks.”

During the second night of the Democrat National Convention, the congresswoman delivered a 90-second speech during which she ostensibly nominated Sen. Bernie Sanders, who was the second-place winner in the Democrat primary elections, to be president of the United States.

When viewed by itself, her actions seemed belligerent and rebellious, because it was already very clear that presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden had been chosen to wield the Democrat Party’s torch going into the 2020 race.

However, this angle was patently wrong, though this fact didn’t stop NBC News from adopting it anyway.

The tweet was highly disingenuous, as it sought to portray the congresswoman’s ostensible endorsement of Sanders as a rejection of Biden.

But the reality is that AOC’s nomination of Sanders was a symbolic, procedural gesture that happens virtually every four years, except for when the Democrat nominee is running as an incumbent president.
