I propose that the voting machines were connected to the Internet by WiFi hotspots through the ACLU attorneys laptops. Cell phones concealed in purses or pockets could also do the same.
These WiFi hot spots acted as wireless routers allowing voting machines to access the Internet. If voting machines had USB ports a WiFi antennae can be plugged in to the USB ports to allow them to connect to WiFi access.
No one else was permitted to enter with a cell phone or computer which would have detected the WiFi signal and alerted them of the presence of a WiFi signal available in the voting precincts.
One witness testified that a supervisor failed to walk the floor but sat in a corner of the room on his cell phone. If his phone was being used as a WiFi hot spot he might need to position himself near a window or in area to connect to a cell tower
