FreedomWorks Leads More Than Two Dozen Organizations in Asking Congress to Oppose Any Increase in the Federal Minimum Wage

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, FreedomWorks led more than two dozen policy and advocacy organizations in asking members of Congress to reject any increase in the federal minimum wage. The full letter can be found here.

“Leftist calls for a ‘living wage’ should not be seriously entertained by any legislators who care about the wellbeing of employees across America. The best ‘living wage’ is the one that markets demand, to serve the interests of employees as well as their employers. Deviation from this is only harmful.”

“Raising the federal minimum wage is proven to threaten jobs and other compensation of millions of Americans, while at the same time doing nothing to reduce poverty rates.

“The best way to reduce poverty is to let the free market work, without government in the way.”
