Economic Lessons Compliments of Big Government

These days, schools are too focused on critical race theory to cover reading, writing, and math effectively, much less economics. Yet thanks to liberal rule, Americans don’t need school to learn the fundamentals of economics. For example:

The Morning Consult reported Wednesday that an estimated 1.8 million Americans rejected job offers over the past year due specifically to the generosity of federal and state unemployment benefits — which ranged from $300-$900 a week over the course of the pandemic.

Pay people not to work and they don’t work. You might get a PhD in economics and not learn that, but because Democrats insanely extended these handouts even after the initial Covid panic had passed, we all know it from direct observation.

Good thing we have an open border, so that there is an endless supply of unskilled labor. This also helps keep wages down.

Getting loafers off the government dole and back into jobs takes time, and…

…even if all 1.8 million do reenter the workforce, the U.S. economy will still be roughly 4.7 million jobs short of where it was in February 2020 before the pandemic started.

This illustrates two more valuable lessons in economics: (1) Do not coercively shut down the economy no matter what, and especially not over a virus that is not serious for the large majority of the working population; and (2) Do not replace a president under whom the economy had been booming with an incremental Marxist whose promised policies were certain to smother the economy.

Next, Big Government will teach us a lesson regarding inflation that will be remembered for generations.
