Whose Manning the Ship?

Let me see if I’ve got this straight:

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has been on paternity leave since August despite a pending infrastructure bill – that presumably would include key “transportation” projects, some that might even involve ‘supply chain’ stuff. And speaking of supply chain stuff, I presume he knows, or at least has heard on the news, that the country is in the middle of the worst supply chain crisis in US history due to multiple problems/bottlenecks in the “transportation” system leading to shipping delays and higher consumer prices. But hey, Pete and Chasten are new daddies – on paternity leave!

So we are to believe Little Red Lyin’ Hood that everything is fine with the Transportation Secretary gone missing: “we are able to get the job done for the American people in the interim.”

This is fine!

Meanwhile, in another key agency, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced that he had sicced the FBI on parents who dare complain at school board meetings…5 days after the White House got a letter from the National School Boards Association (NSBA) whining that parents complaining about COVID-19 school safety policies, critical race theory – and anything else – were practicing “domestic terrorism.” Garland claimed that he “read about the letter in the news. No one in the White House spoke to me about the memo at all.” Wow! This is just like the old Obama era, when he never knew nuthin’ unless he read it in the paper.

Surprisingly Merrick came to precisely the same conclusion as the NSBA.

Domestic terrorists on the march. This is not fine.

And then there’s this: apparently our President just read about the border crisis in the paper. But as he told Anderson Cooper last night, he hasn’t had time to get down there to check things out.

“The whole point of it is, I haven’t had a whole hell of a lot of time to get down.”

Gosh, no. If he didn’t let the Afghanistan debacle interrupt his vacation we surely can’t expect the surge in illegal aliens and illegal drugs pouring into the country disturb his naps.

“Jill can you help me get my sleep mask on?”

All these MIA government functionaries really makes one wonder exactly who is really working the controls behind the veil. It’s clearly not Buttigieg, Merrick or Brandon.
