Trout Pond Lean-tos | Catskills | March 25, 2016

Our Contributor Moe is a volunteer leader in the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference who is responsible for the maintenance of backcountry lean-tos in the Catskill Park (visit the Catskill Conservation Corps to discover volunteer opportunities and get involved). He’s been making trips to visit all 32 lean-tos before he leaves for his Appalachian Trail hike! We’ll be posting some photos and some notes from each of his visits!

March 25, 2016: Went into Trout Pond to check on the lean-to’s. All good except one privy needs to be moved and the handicap one needs seat area repaired. Right now not handicapped but large square hole. Lots and lots of trash packed out including 4 inflatable pool rafts, tin cans and a dirty diaper.
