Take climate action in VA now: Support a revised carbon rule

From the coast to Appalachia, more frequent and more extreme weather events — like floods, droughts and wildfires — impact our farms, forests and rivers. These events have community impacts as well: they drive up the prices of food and insurance, harm businesses and even limit opportunities for outdoor recreation.

But Virginia is on the verge of taking significant action to reduce the impacts of climate change. The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has published a rule to limit carbon emissions from power plants. The rule would lower Virginia’s carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions 30% by 2030 and increase opportunities in the energy markets for zero-emission solutions like solar and wind power.

Climate change affects all Virginians. Tell the DEQ and the Air Pollution Control Board that you support the strongest possible carbon rule!
