Defeating the “Dirty Deal” — again and again!

Our powerful movement defeated Sen. Manchin’s energy bill three times — once in September and twice in December — thanks to individuals like you who called, emailed and rallied! The bill would have made it harder for people to weigh in on nearby energy projects, weakened longstanding environmental protections and attempted to exempt the Mountain Valley Pipeline from environmental law and judicial review.

Thank you for taking action! We’re staying vigilant, but so far it appears that Sen. Manchin’s “permitting reform” bill will not be attached to the end-of-year spending bill.

Restore leadership at the Tennessee Valley Authority

TVA’s nine-person board of directors has dwindled to three, which means CEO Jeff Lyash can make decisions that have enormous climate and economic impacts. If President Biden’s board nominees aren’t confirmed by the Senate this year, the TVA board won’t be able to hold meetings and this lengthy process will start all over in 2023.
