Internet Weirdness at Market Street Cinema
This is my fourth piece about strange happenings around the closing of the Market Street Cinema the first of the month. In my last report I told of meeting a huge black man who said his name was Chocolate, that he had been dead for three years and that he could take me into the closed theater and introduce me to the other dead people (ghosts) who sometimes still showed up to spend the night. I decided not to follow this man through the back door of the theater on Stevenson Alley, because I thought he may be a street hustler who knew my reputation as an eccentric paranormal investigator and was going to rob or kill me. The back door was not open anyway. But he disappeared into a shadow near the door. Where did he go?
I have returned to Stevenson Alley several times since then, but have not seen Chocolate nor Agnes, an old homeless woman who also said the back door of the theater was left cracked open for her and that she slept in the theater on most nights.
I have other strangeness to report, however. I decided to go to the Market Street Cinema website to see if there was any information about what was going on. The website address is www.msclive.com/. When I went to this site I ended up at another website instead which was a website about a horror film named The G-string Horror. I tried to go to msclive.com over and over and always was taken to this other site instead. It seems that this film was the one that was filmed at the theater about a year ago that I had heard about. The site also talks about a Ghost Adventures investigation that went on at the theater. I am familiar with Ghost Adventures since I am a paranormal investigator too. There was no explanation on the website about why people who try to go to the Market Street Cinema site end up here or why the theater is closed. All very strange. I am going to try to find out the connection.
Then I decided to google Market Street Cinema and the theater YouTube channel came up. www.youtube.com/mscinemasf . I went to the YouTube channel and things got even weirder. First, there is a video ad on the page for the horrror film that was on the other website. Then there were a several videos that give you a tour of the empty (closed?) theater. I watched all six of these videos and really got the creeps. There is no sound. Just video of someone walking through the closed theater and looking around. A couple of times I thought I saw a shadow of a person move in the background or a quick image of a dancer, but when I looked at the video again, there was nothing there.
Then the most bizarre thing of all happened. I looked at the last video on the page, “Market Street Cinema SF Presents BIG Women On Stage!”, which is an outrageous strip contest featuring huge fat women, and realized that the MC of the contest was Chocolate, the guy who said that he had worked at the theater as a dj and was now dead. I looked at the video over and over. It was the same guy all right.
What does this mean? The guy who told me his name was Chocolate had worked at the theater. But was he dead or alive? My next step is to try to contact one of the dancers I know who had worked at the theater for many years and see if she knew a dj named Chocolate and whether he had died or not.
I hope to have an answer to this question for my next report.
