Fifty Shades Of Grey And The Firefighters

A couple of short amusing stories today as a Sunday post.

Firstly, it’s all the fault of that book Fifty Shades Of Grey.

What is?

Well the London Fire Brigade being sent to some strange incidents – there’s been over 79 of them recently.

What are these incidents?

They are being called out to free people handcuffed to their beds!

A spokesman for the London Fire Brigade said, “Some of the incidents our firefighters are called out to could be prevented with a little common sense. I don’t know whether it’s the Fifty Shades effect, but the number of incidents involving items like handcuffs seems to have gone up. I’m sure most people will be 50 shades of red by the time our crews arrive to free them.”

They have also been called out to such things as men with rings stuck on their manhood and even one man who somehow had caught his in a toaster, oh and another was trapped in a vacuum cleaner.

Moving on swiftly.

The British Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority have been disclosing some strange reasons why drivers have failed to renew their annual tax disc.

The most odd had a touch of 50 shades as a driver claimed he could not tax his car because he had taken too much Viagra!

Another admitted he had gambled his money instead. He wrote a letter of excuse saying, “I was on my way to the post office to tax my car and called into the betting shop – there was a horse running at Doncaster called ‘Don’t Do It’ so I bet on that with my car tax money instead – it lost”

The classic ‘My dog ate the reminder’ was also used.
