The image appears to show a humanoid figure inside a shark. Many have gone so far as to say that the figure inside the shark is a mermaid, while others maintain that it is nothing more than a hoax.

I fail to see how it looks like a mermaid.
You have to hold a picture of a mermaid over the pile of shark guts, then it totally looks like a mermaid and a shark.
But since mermaids don’t exist, the effect will only be as good as your mermaid. Ariel for example, looks less credible than Daryl Hannah.
A crystal clear picture, of a pile of fish guts, can be called “proof of mermaids” now huh?
The internet’s ability to be an extremely valuable source of information, and an incredible source of stupidity, is boggling.
