Ominous Anniversary Imminent, Bloody Mass Civil Disobedience Looms

Police terror against people of color has prompted a historic national wave of mass civil disobedience within days to coincide with Michael Brown Jr.’s murder one year anniversary protests starting next Friday, according to statements about planned actions in a “fight for justice.” An unprecedented wave of clashes between citizens and police is also anticipated, based on bloodshed over the past year from police brutality targeting people of color. Ferguson is bracing for the protests.

“We must demand federal intervention into the systematic terror against people of color by police,” stated U.S. Veteran for Peace and United For Peace and Justice member Michael McPherson in an email blast Wednesday, seemingly dismissing that with little public outrage, the Obama regime has already enacted martial law that the Bush regime began with the USA PATRIOT ACT soon after 9/11. Media kept the American public in the dark about the fast-tracked NDAA dangerous assault on basic human rights. Bloody US citizen arrests, disappearances and murders should come as no surprise. They are hallmarks of dictatorships.

Since January, at least 664 people have died at the hands of police, including at least 174 blacks, according to a Guardian database, based on news reports to count deaths caused by law-enforcement officers across the USA. Ferguson, the Missouri town where Michael Brown Jr. was murdered by police, is bracing for August 10 protest events.

“I’ve asked the police department to adopt four things as we start,” Interim Police Chief Andre Anderson said Wednesday. “We want to embrace professionalism, we want to embrace respect, we want to embrace community engagement and we want to make the community safer.”

While protests might focus on Ferguson where Michael Brown Jr. was killed with his hands up and saying, “Don’t shoot.” after a year of unprecedented police violence, rights workers say Ferguson is now everywhere in the U.S..

“Over the last year, our movement has made it clear that Ferguson is Everywhere,” McPhearson stated. “That’s why we’re using the hashtag #UnitedWeFight — because we lift up and demand justice not just for Michael Brown, Jr., but for Sandra Bland, for Kayla Moore, for Yvette Smith, for Kajieme Powell, for Dontre Hamilton, for Taneisha Anderson, for Vonderrit Myers and for far too many more.”

As a human rights advocate, McPhearson calls on the American public to join events under the banner #UNITEDWEFIGHT, beginning this weekend, culminating with Michael Brown Jr.’s murder anniversary Monday. McPhearson stands for peaceful demonstrations against hate mongers, as heard in his 9/11 speech (below).

Due to the emergency of the US police state’s escalating racist assaults on people of color, McPhearson, along with leaders of other national civil and human rights groups, has called for mass civil disobedience across the nation, beginning Friday. Civil disobedience is not a call for violence. The past year, however, has proven time and again that U.S. militarized police officers and government operatives are organized to use such protests against the corporate government to create violence and justify “crowd control.”

Our real enemies are not those living in a distant land whose names or policies we don’t understand; The real enemy is a system that wages war when it’s profitable, the CEOs who lay us off our jobs when it’s profitable, the Insurance Companies who deny us Health care when it’s profitable, the Banks who take away our homes when it’s profitable. Our enemies are not several hundred thousands away. They are right here in front of us. – Mike Prysner

“Racism has long been a tool for the military to justify occupying another country,” U.S. Army Veteran Mike Prysner stated in his historic speech in 2009 (below). Likewise, racism is being used today to justify militarized police violence in this country. In turn, that violence can justify martial law, that President Obama codified in 2012 by signing the National Defence Authorization Act (NDAA), as Americans celebrated New Year’s Eve. Sen. John McCain and Senator Carl Levin co-authored the bill that legalize police officers’ apprehending Americans without charge and held indefinitely without trial.

Human rights defenders and even former Generals attempted to persuade Obama to veto the NDAA bill, saying, the president would be helping terrorists if he signed it. Now, the terrorists have full reign within the nation’s borders.

Almost one year, police murdered of Michael Brown Jr., prompting an uprising that has escalated in cities across America as police use of excessive force resulted in brutal deaths of one black individual after another.

“Our movement has grown immensely and here in Ferguson and St. Louis, we continue to fight for all those who have been lost. From August 7-10th, we will stand together, united in purpose, as we uphold our commitment to this movement for Black Lives.

We invite you to join us in St. Louis for the Anniversary Weekend. We have a huge variety of events planned including mass meetings, rallies, concerts and protests.
