You know, I would love for Michelle Obama, with all the obesity talk, to come out and talk about the obesity of the American mind that seems to think that it deserves this or that off someone else’s back.
Someone please explain how I just had someone coming on my site and commenting that two corporations didn’t pay any taxes in this country and how that represents a “right” to have this or that paid for?
I certainly can’t explain it.
Two corporations in ONE year didn’t pay taxes. In fact, one did, but they paid it in other countries for a number of likely reasons we’ll discuss here, but let’s put paid to a few things.
First – one of the major costs of government or any business is labor.
When you have people who drive the cost of a product beyond a certain palatable point for a company and the company loses market share, what are they supposed to do? Are they supposed to fight for the share of the market and keep the doors open, or are they supposed to make less and less until they can no longer remain open?
This is truly what happened in the case of General Motors.
They were paying too much for labor, they were employing all union workers under contracts…
