I personally observed this when my 13 yr old nephew was asked to give a talk to his class on any subject of his choosing. He chose the 2nd amendment. I helped him research and prepare his talk which became “The History of Weapons.”
On presentation day, within 2 minutes after his introduction, the principal interrupted the talk & sent the students home. He asked my nephew to stay (I stayed too). The principal wanted him to choose another topic and when I refused to let him do that, he told us to change the title & topic to “The History of the American Defensive Weapon.” Today, even in Nevada, most kids I ask think guns are terrible and should be outlawed. Do you see the trend? What will happen to the 2nd amendment when these kids grow up? The 1st amendment? and so on…..
