Mother’s Death, NOT a “Valid School Absence.” Nevada Governor 2014 David Lory VanDerBeek
Yesterday, I spoke with a grandmother here in Nevada whose adult daughter died. The grandmother has been a caretaker for her granddaughter for years in helping to raise her and they were neighbors. Naturally, she is the guardian now of her granddaughter. The grandmother contacted the granddaughter’s school about the mother’s death and the school attendance clerk told her that her excuse for the absence was not valid and that her granddaughter would be marked truant. This is a %100 true, verified story by myself. This story to me encapsulates how sick people are who work in government and how often they will abuse their power as long as they can get away with it.
