Regency Hotel Dublin Ireland: Evict Family in Homeless Accommodation
A family in temporary homeless accommodation have been evicted from the Regency Hotel in Swords after they complained to the hotel management of mold and damp walls in their hotel room. It was reported that, the Regency Hotel Management responded with utter disregard for Lauren and Aiden’s complaint about the detestable room quality.
In addition the Regency Hotel expressing no sympathy for the personal wellbeing of a 9 month old baby who was subjected to live in these substandard conditions for the last 3 months. The living conditions provided by the Regency Hotel on behalf of Dublin City Council, costing a whooping €600 per week has culminated in Lauren’s 9 month old daughter being shifted into Temple Street Hospital with chronic breathing difficulties.
Hotel management flaunted their envy towards the families complaint to be provided with another room which was not saturated by condensation, moldy damp walls was not met. Instead, the manager of the Regency Hotel called the Gardai and requested that the family be removed from the hotel under public order offense, thus further extends to the number of families declared homeless today.
Lauren reported she was never offered any contract or informed of any rules in conjunction with the hotel accommodation being paid for by Dublin City Council.
It is my own opinion at this point, to factually express my disgust towards how this family have been treated giving the allegations made against the hotel, and how they handled such repulsive complaint. Regardless who pays for the accommodation for a homeless person and their siblings, all customers should be treated equally, shouldn’t they?
I have no doubt; if this situation was reported by a non-homeless family, the customer would have been re-roomed without a scene being exaggeratedly blown out of proportion by the hotel staff in question. My own perspicacity borderlines this situation on pure and utter discrimination or nothing short of it.
