Obama Gobbles up 400,000 Square Miles for the Government

Marx would be proud. Our Community organizer President is gobbling up more land for the government. And all under the rubric of the Antiquities Act. It was supposed to be for very small areas of designation that would not require an Act of Congress which is the lawful way of the government claiming land. Be sure, he is not done yet.

On Friday, President Obama, with the stroke of a pen, created the world’s largest ocean reserve off Hawaii, 400,000 square miles, just days after designating a massive national monument in Maine – moves that have angered local lawmakers who accuse the president of disregarding the impact on residents.

Hawaii

Obama used a presidential proclamation to expand the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument off the coast of Hawaii by over 400,000 square miles. The preserve now stretches 582,578 square miles, the world’s largest marine protected area. .
