The population density of East Texas is very high compared to the rest of the state, which is the second most populous state in the country (see graphic below). Hence, it is not just Houston and Corpus Christi that have major problems; it’s the whole region, especially the outlying and many low-lying residential areas.
The biggest concern is that this superstorm is a HUGE rainmaker, which has essentially parked itself over the East Texas lowlands. The grim reality is that Houston, like New Orleans, shouldn’t even be there, its elevation is so low in many places.

Kind of a piss poor weapon of mass destruction.. We haven’t really had
very many deaths at all from this.. I live in the spot that has had
the most rain of all, and there are no dead bodies floating around,
or anything like that.. Sure a few have died and were in the wrong

for some miserable conditions, but as for killing millions, just not

Fema has been here a bunch of times.. During Hurricane Rita, they were all set
up by the astrodome with their whole compliment of clipboard toters..
The Mayor at that time was Bill White.. He took their entire compliment of
people to the airport and made them get on their plane and fly away.. So once
Fema gets in, they can easily be escorted back out again.
On your other point of making it uninhabitable, it really was right after hurricane
Ike, but you would not believe how fast Texans clean up after messes.. The hurricane
damage for Ike was worse than this is.. We have flooding, but we don’t have ten
feet of broken boat hulls, telephone poles, and stuff in our back yard like we had
for hurricane Ike.. The water is higher in many places, yes, that is true, but it is
not going to make us uninhabitable by any means.. Bad flood, well heck yes it is.
WE as Texans, just get up, shove the bad Fed agencies aside and get to work
cleaning up the mess.. Lots of other states send people in to help and other
Texans show up from all over the state to clean it up and help out..
After hurricane IKE, after six months, you could not even tell that we were hit
by a hurricane in 95 percent of the city.. Only a few spots, and you had to be
a local and know what to look at to see those spots.. So, things happen very
quickly.. Just like right now, people are out en mas cleaning up whatever they
can.. Not sure how we are going to get this tractor’s trailer out from under
our bridge outside in our neighborhood, but we will think of something.. LOL..
Yep, we are Texans and we have so much help it’s really incredible.. You would
be amazed at how many boats are out rescuing people, from the Cajun Navy of
Louisianna! Boats going down streets like a boat parade! Such a wonderful site
indeed.. So with this private army of real people, we will have this place cleaned
up in no time and it will be quite habitable, so make plans to come sit on the
back deck, look out over the bay and have some shrimp on the barbie!
We outdo FEMA. The first thing we do is kick them out of town so we can
get stuff done.. Then we roll up our sleeves and clean this puppy up in a matter
of weeks, or a few months at best..
My town just set the record in the United States for the biggest amount of rainfall
of any place in the country in it’s history at 51.88 inches! Hooray Baytown Texas!
Even though we get zero coverage on the local and national news throughout
this event, we had the most rain every recorded in the country during the storm!

2qik4u Good news to report today mate, the sun came out last
evening over most of the city, and I actually got to see the sun
as it was setting yesterday, which was the 1st time we had seen
it in a week! I know it sounds funny, but you don’t know how
much that does for you psychologically. Just to see it is amazing
after being under rain upon rain upon rain.. Luckily we haven’t
lost anything, but work time on this one.. Since we live on the
lid of the drain, all water just goes past us, and spills right into
the Bay. I know so many have lost so much and we hope and
pray that they recover quickly. If we ever flood where we are,
it’s like the end of the world I think. We would have to have
the entire gulf of Mexico rise by 17 feet to get us wet. Which
in turn would have to have the Atlantic raise by 17 feet as well.
Already this morning vast swaths of the city are drying up fast
and most freeways are draining out really fast as well. Some of
our folks made it in to work today, and there was only 8″ of

The real question should be … How does having multiple different persons keep this one God/being/entity from praying to himself?! It never occurs to them that that since there is only one indivisible God to pray too and Jesus is that indivisible God come in the flesh that he would need to talk to himself as to show us how to live, suffer, pray and die for our/ flesh) benefit not his!?!….. So while Trinitarians are quick to complain that God was not talking to himself at Christ baptism or in Gen “let us” they ignore the logical demands of their own theology! If Jesus is the ONE GOD in flesh and the Father is the SAME ONE GOD in heaven then Trinitarianism demands THE ONE GOD is talking to HIMSELF the same “being”! Claiming that God is multiple different persons as the reason for why God is not talking to himself (because God is three different “selfs”) only demonstrates that what they really worship is in fact not a ONE GOD who talks to himself but three different god “selfs”/ and they all talk to each other! When they speak about who God was talking and praying to, they are quick to say “the other person, NOT HIMSELF!” But if you ask them how many gods do they pray to then they will say “ONLY ONE”!?! The “but” points out the contrast between multiple persons in a mediation party v the “one” of God.
