AP Writer: Colin Kaepernick is Owed a Football Contract, and Players Should Strike ’til He Gets One

Ah, Colin Kaepernick. Purveyor of erroneous information.

Kaepernick started a revolution in the NFL by kneeling to protest an epidemic that did not exist.

Many others — who apparently also weren’t interested checking the statistical fact — followed suit. Hence, abysmal numbers for the NFL and an all-around mess.

Fast-forward to Kaepernick having all the time in the world to kneel, unencumbered by the opportunity to play professional football.

AP writer Paul Newberry wants Colin to have less time to protest and more time to run and mess around with a little ball: he suggests the league’s greatest social justice warriors go on strike until somebody — anybody — hires Kaepernick and fellow knee-taker Eric Reid.

Newberry recommends:

“Maybe a one-day sickout during training camp. Or kneeling en masse before the first game. Perhaps, as a last resort, they should consider an actual strike.”

Despite condemnation from fans of football and the Flag, the media have held Kaepernick in a sweet kiss, praising him as a hero of justice (apparently, they forgot to find out if the epidemic existed, too).

I guess love from the media hasn’t made up for a terrible performance at the National Football League’s bank: Newberry believes Colin and Eric were canned from the NFL due to the impact of their political activism:

“[Their firing] is a clear warning to [the NFL’s] employees that only so much social activism will be tolerated even while it feigns a sense of respecting their desire to protest during the national anthem. If the NFL were really concerned about its players, it wouldn’t be denying these two their well-earned right to make a living. Rest assured, history won’t be kind when it looks back on the way Kaepernick and Reid were treated by the NFL.”

“Their well-earned right to make a living?” Colin Kaepernick is worth $20 million. The average individual annual income in the U.S. is $27,000 (to which, incidentally, no American has a “right”).

Therefore, if an average adult works from the ages of 25 to 75, Colin Kaepernick has already made 15 lifetime livings. 

So: make a living? Check.

Kaepernick agrees with Newberry’s assessment of the unfair NFL — he’s suing the league, and he may try to subpoena the President of the United States (read here).

Yes — it’s that goofy.

Oh, and by the way: no one has the “right” to earn money specifically by running around, jumping on top of each other in the grass, and kicking and tossing a projectile while people clap. That isn’t a right.

It isn’t a Right, but this is the Left.

And the thinking of a writer for the AP.

And while Kaepernick has no right to play, football fans have the right to stay at home — or change the channel — if players disrespect the National Anthem. Oh — and if they wear socks portraying police officers as pigs.
