Another large batch of Syrian Arab Army (SAA) reinforcements were filmed heading towards the Idlib front for the upcoming offensive against the jihadist rebels. Video footage from the Damascus Now news network showed dozens of vehicles making their way from southern Syria to the fringes of the Idlib Governorate. The Syrian Arab Army has already sent thousands of soldiers to the Idlib and Latakia fronts; they expect more to head towards these provinces in the coming days. According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Arab Army is preparing to launch their largest offensive of the war using their biggest force. This Syrian Arab Army force is expected to consist of tens of thousands of soldiers from all over the country; they will be tasked retaking the northern countryside of Latakia, the Al-Ghaab Plain, and the Jisr Al-Shughour District…

Nasrallah slams US interference in Syria’s ‘liberation’

Secretary-General of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah attacked the US on Sunday during a televised address in Hermel of Beqaa Governorate, repeating claims of a supposed chemical plot being used as a pretext for US military action in Syria. Nasrallah claimed US’ action is “to prevent the regime and state of Syria from completing the liberation of its territory in the face of what has been considered in the Security Council of the United Nations as the most terrorist organisation in the world,” referring to the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL). The speech marked the anniversary of the separate victories of the Lebanese Army and Hezbollah over militants in the country’s northeastern outskirts last summer.

Assad meets Iranian Defence Minister in Damascus

Iranian Defence Minister, Brigadier General Amir Hatami visited Damascus on Sunday and met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. After meeting with Assad, Hatami met Syrian military authorities to strengthen their military cooperation.
