The Owner of the Miami Dolphins is the Latest to be Cast Away Due to Trump Support

Nothing is more dangerous to your public reputation nowadays than being in favor of Donald Trump as President. Sadly, the owner of the Miami Dolphins, Stephen Ross, is finding himself rejected by his peers after holding a fundraiser for Trump.

According to the Daily Wire, Ross was removed from the NFL’s “social justice” committee according to former defensive end Chris Long, who bragged about removing Ross before correcting himself and saying they got him to agree to leave to Sports Illustrated.

“We just removed, or got Stephen Ross to agree to be off a working group,” Long said.

“The one thing I really disagree with Eric [Reid] on is that the Coalition hasn’t done anything.”

This doesn’t mean Ross is going to stop working for social justice within the NFL, and will continue efforts for it through RISE (Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality).

Of course, this was also greeted with rejection, specifically by Dolphins wide receiver Kenny Stills, who tweeted that Ross can’t have a non-profit like this and be aligned with Trump.

Ross hasn’t taken the criticism lying down, however. According to CBS Miami, Ross released a statement saying that while everyone else criticizes and complains, he’s actually going to go out and do something about the issues society is facing. He also noted his long friendship with Donald Trump and that while they don’t see eye to eye on everything, he feels engaging with leaders is the fastest way to solve various problems:

“I always have been an active participant in the democratic process. While some prefer to sit outside of the process and criticize, I prefer to engage directly and support the things I deeply care about.

I have known Donald Trump for 40 years, and while we agree on some issues, we strongly disagree on many others and I have never been bashful about expressing my opinions.

I started my business with nothing and a reason for my engagement with our leaders is my deep concern for creating jobs and growing our country’s economy.

I have been, and will continue to be, an outspoken champion of racial equality, inclusion, diversity, public education and environmental sustainability, and I have and will continue to support leaders on both sides of the aisle to address these challenges.”

Ross isn’t the first person to be kicked out of a group due to his support for Trump, and he definitely won’t be the last.

On Tuesday, I reported about how Miss Nevada, Katie Williams, was recently disqualified from the Miss America pageant over her support for Trump. She was also told that she would only receive her money back from fees if she relinquishes her title as Miss Nevada and never speaks of the controversy again, including her family.
